Sunday Sampler

Sunday Sampler

I'm back at it again in this week's edition of Sunday Sampler. I'm loving my new motivation to head to various beauty stores and pick up the latest and greatest. My husband isn't as enthusiastic about this as I am... in trying to test out all the au courant beauty trends, I usually come home with lots of other non gratuitous goodies that "I just had to have." Sorry Mike, as they say: you win some, you lose some.

This Week's Lineup:

  1. GLAMGLOW supermud clearing treatment: Admittedly, up until two weeks ago, I was a GG virgin. I've been a little skeptical of Glam Glow's ultra flashy and gaudy product packaging... I thought for sure their stuff was all hype. I WAS SO WRONG!!! This charcoal mask came through on all it's promises to detoxify, clarify and renew my skin... and made my skin prime for the picking. Ewww, gross I know but nothing gives me more pleasure than squeezing my pores clean. Recently, I've had my fair share of restless nights (11pm bedtime + two glasses of wine + mother of three + snoring husband = recipe for disaster), so I've depended on this magic-making mask to bring me back to life. And here I am bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to tell you this stuff is amazing!!! And now I'm about to hand you the best news ever... It can be used as a mask on those stubborn ingrown hairs too! The Gods are singing, can you hear them?

  2. Briogeo Rosarco Milk, reparative leave-in conditioning spray: Lately, I haven't been much of a hair DIYer- just too tired, and with all this hair my arms go numb by the end of a blowout. So, I was attracted to this product, not for me, but for my three daughters who revere Rapunzel AND the length of her hair. I usually spend my mornings wrangling their snarly-marly, long hair with a prayer and a brush. Probably because she's not a fan of the daily detangling process either, my six year old Penny was so super pumped to be on the tester's panel this week. Penny immediately gave this hair spray two thumbs up! She said "yum! My hair just smells so good, I want to eat it." I loved the scent as well, and it definitely made my girls' hair smoother, easier to comb through and it actually defined their curls. And it wasn't greasy. One of the things I love most about this "milk" is that it is SAFE to use even on my daughters' hair; it's formulated without parabens, silicones, and phthalates which is music to my mommy ears. Cons: the nozzle is pretty focused so you can only really spray one area at a time.

  3. Fresh black tea age-delay eye concentrate: disclosure... I've been a huge fan of fresh before they were ever that popular but I promise to keep my opinions unbiased.. that being said: I love this stuff. For the past two weeks, I've meticulously slathered on a thin layer of this concentrate around my eyes at bedtime and BOOM!, the next morning, I wake up looking like a Unicorn Princess from a far off land. Ok, that's a bit much but the skin around my eyes is noticeably firmer, lighter and more hydrated. At this stage in the game, any product that can disguise my "I'm about to freak the fuck out" lifestyle, is one worth vouching for. This eye cream is the real deal and even better, a little bit goes a long way.

This week was full of winners. I loved them so much that I'm making room in my wallet to purchase all three. As a reminder (yup, I'm going to say this every time), our skin is all different so samples are essential in finding what's right for you. Don't be afraid to ask for samples... I know that feels like half the battle but in the end you have to have your own back right?
